11 Days Eastern Uganda Safari
Our 11 Days Eastern Uganda safari uncovers most of the hidden gems of East and Northern Uganda. It includes water sports in Jinja, hikes to Sipi Falls and Mount Elgon, Kidepo Valley National Park. Eastern Uganda features forests, waterfalls, and a variety of wildlife which have attracted many tourists. It also boasts a thrilling adrenaline adventures like bungee jumping, white water rafting, quad biking, horseback riding, tubing and kayaking
Day to day
Day 1: Arrival
On the first day of your 4 days safari, on arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by our smart representative (your driver guide) and transfer to your hotel for check in. He will brief you about your safari and go to your room to rest.
A city tour in the afternoon is possible on this day.
Day 2: Entebbe - Ngamba Island
After your breakfast, you will transfer to UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Center) where you will take a boat cruise on Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary, home to orphaned chimpanzees. Visitors are allowed to take photos and videos of chimpanzees and this gives awesome memories.
Ngamba Island is home to many tree species, reptiles, and beautiful lake scenery. you will have your lunch at the island and then relax. In the afternoon you will visit the nearby fishing village, interact with the fishermen and then return with a sunset cruise.
Day 3: Entebbe - Jinja
After morning breakfast, you will transfer to Jinja. You will make a stop over in Mukono and visit the beautiful Sezibwa Falls, a serene site located 1.5 km off Jinja highway. You will after drive to Mabira Forest, where you will see a diversity of birds, monkeys, and different tree species. Proceed to Jinja town for lunch before checking in your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Jinja
After breakfast, you will head for a boat cruise to the source of the Nile, the world's longest river. The boat cruise gives you the opportunity to view a variety of bird species and the Speke monument where John Speke stood as he discovered the source of the Nile. Return to your lodge for lunch and prepare for rafting in the afternoon. Rafting is a very interesting water sport and the Nile is the best spot for it. Kayaking, bungee jumping, tubing, zip lining, and horse back riding are other activities that can be done this afternoon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Jinja - Kapchorwa Sipi falls
After breakfast you will depart to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa. Upon arrival, you will check in your lodge and have a hot lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a guided walk to the Sipi falls with a local guide who will also tell you about the culture and history of the area surrounding the sipi falls. Sipi Falls has three waterfalls positioned at the foothills of Mount Elgon, surrounded by walking paths covered by Arabica coffee trees, which give an adventurous and spectacular view for photography.
Return to the lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Sipi - Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve
After breakfast you will depart to Pian Upe wildlife reserve in Moroto where you will experience both culture and wildlife. Though less visited, Pian Upe game reserve is a haven for unique game and has a wide range of wildlife which includes cheetahs, jackals, zebra, buffaloes, roan antelopes, and a variety of bird species. You will arrive at the best time for lunch, check in and in the afternoon you will go for a community walk where you will interact with the local people and be entertained by them. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Game drives
On this day, after breakfast you will go for a morning game drive where you will encounter the early risers like the cheetahs while they hunt, zebras, roan antelopes, dik dik hyenas, monkeys among others. Return to your lodge for lunch and relax.
In the evening, you will go for a sunset game drive and look out for more wildlife like the olive baboons, aardvark, water bucks, uganda kobs, velvet monkeys among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Pian Upe - Kidepo Valley National Park
After early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park, a true African wilderness and home to a variety of animal and bird species. You will see animals like the lions, reed buck, dik dik, lesser kudu, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, harte beests, porcupines, jackals, zebras, klipspringer, among others. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive in the Narus valley to search for wild game that the park harbors. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Kidepo Valley National Park
After early morning breakfast you will have a thrilling game drive in the Savannah plains of Kidepo which supports countless numbers of wildlife which include; cheetahs, spotted hyenas, buffaloes, elands, striped jackals, elephants and lions. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Go for an evening game drive to search for more wildlife that you would have missed in the morning game drive such as the leopard. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Kidepo - Kampala
After breakfast you will checkout and then transfer to Kampala via Kitgum with an en-route lunch in Gulu, continue through Karuma and arrive in Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your preferred hotel.
Day 11: Departure
On this day, you will wake up to a tasty breakfast, relax in the hotel gardens, swim in the hotel's swimming pool, enjoy lunch and checkout to the airport to catch your flight back home with awesome memories.
