Day to day

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

On arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be received by your driver guide, and transfer to your lodge in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Your driver guide will welcome you and brief you about your tour and leave you to rest.

You may also do an optional city tour in Kigali on your way to Nyungwe Forest National Parkb

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

After an early morning breakfast you will head to the park's headquarters in Uwinka where you will be briefed by the park rhead ranger and allocated a tracking group and enter the forest at 8.00AM to search for the chimpanzees. While tracking the chimpanzees you will spot other primate species such as monkeys.

After the tracking,head back to your lodge for hot lunch and rest.

In the evening you may visit the nearby villages to interact with the local people and learn more about their living and daily lifestyles and then return to your lodge for dinner and and overnight.

Day 3: Nyungwe Canopy Walk

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will begin your hiking trip which will lead you to the Canopy Walkway. The Nyungwe Canopy Walk(160m long and 70m above the ground) is the most exciting adventurous activity in Nyungwe Forest National Park. The canopy walk gives the visitors a panaromic view of the forest canopy, and also gives the opportunity to see forest wildlife such as monkeys, chimpanzees, butterflies and birds.

After the walk you head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda's mountain gorillas capital with 12 habituated groups available for visitors to track. It is Africa's oldest National Park established in 1925.

You will check in your lodge and have a delicious dinner.

Day 5: Gorilla tracking and Ibyi Iwacu Community visit

Day 5 is the biggest highlight of the tour as it brings you closer to the jungle's gentle giants, the mountain gorillas. After and early morning breakfast you will transfer to the park's headquarters where you will be briefed by the park head ranger about the dos and donts during the gorilla tracking activity. You will be allocated the group of gorillas to track and start the trekking. We advise to hire a porter to assist you since sometimes the trek is longer.

When you find the mountain gorillas,  you will spend one hour with them taking photos and videos for beautiful memories.

After tracking the mountain gorillas and receiving your certificate, you will drive back to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit Ibyi Iwacu village and get an insightful peek into the amazing Rwandan culture. Interact with the local people, watch the dance performances from the local intore dance troupe.

You may also hike the musanze caves and explore them. Learn their history and significance to Rwanda's historical past.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali

After your breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali, tour the city and visit some markets, villages, or centers.

Proceed to the airport for your departure.
